teacher thank yous

I'm addicted to MANY blogs, some of them with GREAT end of year/teacher gift ideas. Through looking at those blogs (one of the MAJOR inspiration blogs I look at is http://www.eighteen25.blogspot.com/ and they have THE GREATEST ideas on there, but I took that inspiration and added it to other ideas I got from other places). I made the following little card for the top of their containers of cake pops:

 Isn't that the GREATEST teacher quote? I LOVE it! My grandma is always telling me to stop burning the candle at both ends, and she was a teacher, and it just spoke to me. I found the quote HERE. I found the graphic HERE after doing a google searc for "vintage teacher" and putting the advanced settings to "large" so I'd get a nicer quality graphic.

That was one simple thing we did.

The other thing we did was to take clothespins, paint them, decopauge them with scrapbook papers, affix a magnet to the back, and present them in a cute way. I got the idea from here:

This was my first time buying this magazine and it had lots of great graduation and mother's day ideas in it.

Here's the directions from the magazine, that gave me the idea for the presentation.

 Clothespins = super cheap - like 50 pins for $0.97 at Walmart! Magnetic strips are pretty cheap, too. And the black spraypaint I already owned, and the scrapbook paper I already hoard!

It just took a few minutes to work on the concept of clothespins and the words we'd use to say thank you. "Hangin' in there" came to mindafter way too much time thinking about it. But yay, concept down. Now to get the girls to do some of it, so it's really from them.

 Check. Now to figure out a way to make the paper hold the pins without ripping.

Check. Using ZOTS medium sized glue tabs.

 And I happen to think they turned out pretttty darn cute. I LOVE the font used - some people couldn't care less about fonts, most of those people happen to be boys and husbands. But I like fonts, and I used a font called Rosewood for the "Hangin' in there" part. And by the way I believe at LEAST two fonts should be used for any project, usually three. It just looks better.

 Finally, after making three of these sets, I came up with the idea to put the paper diagonal to display the clips. Wish I would have done this on the first one, too, but oh well. Sometimes the best ideas come to you when you're almost finished!
