Fall is coming

Ah, I love the feeling of our house now that the girls have started school. Sid has real homework to do, due each Friday in a packet, and Alyssa has "pretend" homework that I make up for her, since her preschool doesn't give out homework. Last night at the table, watching them finish their work and chit chat back and forth was so adorable. It reminded me of fall afternoons and nights at home when I was little - homework is just such a huge part of your life back then (for some of us....). I can't wait for it to cool down so I can make some big pots of somethin' in the crock pot and have my house smell like meat and potatoes and baked stuff and just let the fall simmer in after this weird heat we're having.
